This perfume is amazing but for only $4 more, you can get the same amount of perfume in a refillable version of the bottle. The shape of the bottle will still be the beautiful star shape like the one pictured above but the silver cap top will be removable. Refills of Angel can then be purchased at a huge discount and come with a little funnel to make pouring the refill in really easy. If you live near somewhere Angel is sold, most of the stores have a refill station, called the “Angel Source,” and a professional can refill your bottle for you for the same great discount. If for some reason you decide to change fragrances after you finish your bottle, you could easily refill with something else. This is the reason why it looses a star. The refillable bottle gets a full five stars.

One important note, this fragrance is designed to smell different on different people and takes a day or two to ’settle in.’ If you don’t like the fragrance at first, you might want to wear it for a few days to see how it develops. I didn’t like Angel when I first smelled it but now it’s my favorite. I always get tons of compliments each time I dab it on.

Most of the notes in Angel are scents of things edible. This way wearing Angel will remind you and others of pleasant memories of food and the warm feelings food evokes in the emotions. Blended into the scent are top notes of bergamot and jasmine, middle notes of red berries, dewberry, and honey, and base notes of patchouli, vanilla, coumarine, chocolate, and caramel. It’s no wonder that men love to smell this fragrance. When I wear it I find I’m one popular lady!

The Angel perfume is very unique and that is one of the reasons I like it as much as I do (although it is probably not my favorite fragrance). It really stands out and doesn’t smell like any other. I feel special, different (in a good way), and a little bolder when I wear it. My husband thinks he needs more time to get used to it, but I don’t know if he’ll ever really love it. If I ever want another perfume sample, I would try harder to find it in a department store, where it would likely be free. Otherwise, with the shipping and the price of the teeny, tiny, little bottle, it’s not really worth it (but it is good to try it out before you spend $70 or whatever on an actual bottle).

There are tons of descriptions of the actual scent of Angel itself out there, but it is kind of warm, spicy, sort of sweet at the same time. I detect a hint of cinnamon, but many people mention chocolate, and that’s kind of true too. Believe it or not, most of the nuanced scents and undertones sound crazy when you read about them online, but they are there, chocolate, candy floss and all. Apply it very lightly at first because it has quite a strong “wake”. Also, it will last a long time on your clothes if they are not washed right away(which is not necessarily bad).

This perfume really is as amazing as everyone says it is. I admit, I purchased it solely based on the reviews that I read about it without even smelling it or testing it on my own skin, which is something I don’t normally do. But I’m glad I did in this case. When I first tried it on, it seemed very heavy, almost oil-based, but after it developed it was unlike anything I had ever smelled before. The best way I can describe this fragrance is that it really is angelic… heady, sensual, very warm, and unusual. If this becomes your signature fragrance, it will be unlike anyone elses. I have had a lot of people compliment me on it, and it is great for special occasions and everyday wear (but one or two sprays will be enough).

What can I say for this fragrance? There’s a reason it is only sold at Fine department stores. Simply b/c it’s divine. The wonderful blend of vanilla, patchouli, and other spices is light and sweet but wears well. If heavy parfums leave you choking then try angel and experience it’s true efferevescent aroma. And the bottle is refillable too for a discounted rate off the original purchase price? You can’t beat that with a stick.
